Louvre Itself

The Louvre itself was quite impressive.  It's an old Palace and took a long time to build, perhaps centuries.

The most famous view first, with the pyramid.  You actually enter through the pyramid and go down to the main underground floor, which stretches under all the buildings.  The buildings actually house the museum, but it's deceiving, because they are very deep; there are actually 5 large courtyards contained in these buildings.

Me in front of the main arch, which is not the Arch de Triumph (which is a mile away behind this).

Closer picture of the pyramid.

Night Pyramid.

Night with effects on the sky.

Looking up through the glass.

Roman ruins under the Louvre, from a prior castle that sat on this point 1-2,000 years ago.

More ruins; those are dungeons.
