Old Hill Town

We spent a day in an old hill town and fortress - can't remember the name of the town, but it had been there since early Roman times.  The whole town is a few hundred feet square, up on top of a big hill which was heavily fortified and easily defended.

The original fountain in the center of town.

Very old relic from early church.

Typical alley between buildings.  Space was at a premium inside city walls.

Working guy from 1500s.

View of cemetery (outside walls) and valley below.

Alley with valley view.

Nearby valley.

Far away valley.

Cool cross and valley/mountain shot.

Inside of very old church, probably 1,000-1,500 years old.

Larger roadway, with dog.

The town is very touristy now, filled with expensive art galleries.  The following pictures capture the most interesting of the art.
